autobiography, w/o warning

and we were married
and she said
you don't write about me anymore
and then later she said
i don't think i ever really loved you
in a voice without anger
without regret
and i probably said something too
but i've always had my
doubts about words

i've always put a good deal
of faith in walls

so goddamn simple to just
block out the sun
