God's Reflex


something changed

in that split second

something somehow

changed

 

innate tendencies

and simple chemicals

collided with collapsed atoms

and the misery of time

 

and all that we share now

is a word or two or three

 

and in the end

we will die separately

and be absent

from each other’s wills.
