Obsession

When I wander empty streets
at night to forget -
your words nail themselves
into my ears

When I lay myself down
to slumber, echoes
of your voice chisel at
my brain once again.

The uneasy feeling of
abuse is etched into
memory –
there you are again

on that lonely walk,
I admired and pondered
an obsessive, unruly
murder of crows.
