Questions of Lasting

The eternal internal interviewer
posed one question too many.
His house of cards collapsed.
I warned him that I would only
go so far, about A to Nantucket.
Now, lacking question marks
I am cut loose, a man without
a limp. Up ahead I see only blank
space, the kind of living I was
born to do. Up ahead my last
clue, the one I never really needed.
